Interested in a Chemistry Major? Attend Explore Kent Chemistry Day!

Annual event to be held in the Integrated Sciences Building/Williams Hall

We invite high school students and their families to visit the Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry for Explore Kent Chemistry Day on Saturday, February 10, 2018.

Our program will begin in the North Commons of the Integrated Sciences Building/Williams Hall at 10:00am.  An optional campus tour with admissions is available at 9:00am.  Chemistry and Biochemistry professors will describe our curriculum, job prospects with our degrees, and research opportunities available to undergraduates.  Kent State Chemistry and Biochemistry majors will describe college life from the student's point of view.  We will demonstrate our 3D stereoprojection classroom capabilities and take a tour of the research laboratories and newly-renovated instructional laboratories.  The visit will conclude with an informal lunch, where attendees will have the opportunity to talk one-on-one with faculty and students.

High school juniors and seniors come from all over Ohio and neighboring states for Explore Kent Chemistry Day.  Current Kent State students who are considering Chemistry and Biochemistry majors are also welcome.

To register for this event, please fill out the form at http://tinyurl.com/EKC18 by February 2. For more information, please contact Catherine Slapnicker at 330-672-2405 or cslapni1@kent.edu.  Meanwhile, check out our video gallery to hear our students describe their experiences in the Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry!
