The Department of Chemistry & Biochemistry celebrates its 14th annual Honors Week with some special events, all of which are open to the public!
On Monday, April 4th, the Kent State chapter of the Student Affiliates of the American Chemical Society will host its 4th annual Honors Week Poster Session. Both undergraduate and graduate students in chemistry and chemistry-related fields will present their research and be eligible for prizes. The event will take place from 5:30-8:00pm in the 1st floor Quiet Study Area of the Main Library. Refreshments will be available.
The keynote Honors Week speaker will be Dr. Liming Dai from Case Western Reserve University. On Thursday, April 7th, he will present, "Architectural Diversity of π-Conjugated Carbon: The Way to Modern Alchemy and Unexpected Scientific Discoveries." This will take place at 3:00pm in the Governance Chambers on the 2nd floor of the Kent Student Center.
Following Dr. Dai's lecture, there will be a departmental reception in room 306 A/B/C of the Student Center.
The Celebration of Student Achievement will take place in the same room beginning at 5:00pm. Undergraduate and graduate student award and scholarship winners will be announced at this time.
