Admissions Process

If you're interested in attending Kent State University at East Liverpool or Kent State University at Salem, you will need to submit an application for admission as well as a $40 non-refundable application fee.  You may complete your application online.


Depending on your student status, you may also need to submit high school transcripts, college transcripts, ACT/SAT scores and/or other materials. All application materials become the property of Kent State University and are not returnable or transferable.

Once your application has been received, our office will send you a letter confirming receipt of your application and reminding you of items still missing from your application. When all of your application materials have been received, you will receive a letter inviting you to call our office in East Liverpool at 330-385-3805 or Salem at 330-332-0361 to schedule a STAR date.

On your STAR date, you will take our COMPASS/ALEKS placement assessment, schedule classes and meet with financial aid staff.

Although it's not required for admission to the University, all students are strongly encouraged to complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). By submitting this one form you will be considered for federal and state grants and student loans. Students applying for campus-based scholarships are required to submit the FAFSA as well.
