“Nursing offers that and so much more,” she said. “I feel like I will never be bored with my job as a nurse. There is always something new to see and learn.”

Tarrah is an LPN, after graduating from the John D. Rockefeller School of Practical Nursing in 2014. She worked for a local doctor as an LPN before becoming a student at Kent State East Liverpool. In 2010, she earned her bachelor’s degree in social work from Asbury University.

While she admits that she chose to earn her nursing degree at Kent State East Liverpool because of the convenience, the program’s quality is what kept her here. “I’ve known a few people who graduated from the nursing program in the last couple of years,” she related. “They talked about how much they loved the faculty and staff and it only cemented my decision to come here.”

Tarrah expects to work as a floor nurse in a med-surg unit after graduation. “However, I did enjoy my rotation in the ER and I could eventually see myself there someday, too!”
