Annual Culture Fair Highlights Appalachia
With a focus on Appalachian culture, the 2017 Culture Fair will be held on Thursday, Dec. 7, in the Slak Shak, located in Purinton Hall on the Kent State East Liverpool Campus.
This is the sixth year for what has become an annual research opportunity for undergraduate students. Those interested in participating in this event are encouraged to submit papers, posters and/or videos that showcase research about this region of our country.
The deadline to register and submit research projects is Friday, Dec. 1 and must be done by using the link: https://kent.qualtrics.com/SE/?SID=SV_798F9pmtVZdGTcN&Q_JFE=0
“There is so much to learn about Appalachia,” noted Dr. Lydia Rose, organizer of the fair and associate professor of sociology on the East Liverpool Campus. “Some of the best examples of American experiences of innovation, rebellion and social change are rooted in Appalachia.”
The fair will run from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. and is open to the public.
