A community gaming tournament is set for May 5 at the MAC Center on the Kent Campus, featuring an in-person 6v6, single elimination Overwatch tournament. There is a prize pool of $6,000 in Kent State scholarships for this event.
Also, there will be a Hearthstone Fireside Gathering, a League of Legends information session, prizes, giveaways and more information about eSports at Kent State University.
All current Kent State students – from any campus – are welcome to join the tournament, as well as current high school students. Those without a team of six, can join the discord server to locate team mates, or register as a “free agent” to be matched with another team. A school or state ID is required at check-in.
Overwatch is free, while Hearthstone is $10 per player. Computers will be provided for Overwatch; any player interested in Hearthstone should take a tablet or laptop to the event.
