Flash Market Set for June 25 on Kent Salem Campus

Trunk and Treasure Sale to Benefit Rural Scholars

Kent State University at Salem is holding its inaugural Flash Market, a trunk and treasure event that will provide area residents a venue to sell and/or buy items. It will take place outdoors on the Salem Campus, 2491 St. Route 45 South, on Saturday, June 25 from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Flash Market is a fundraising effort to support Kent State’s Rural Scholars program.

Sellers can rent spaces for $15 each, or two for $25, if registered in advance. The cost is $20 per space the day of the event. Each space will accommodate a car, pickup, van or SUV.

Sellers are welcome to sell new and/or used items, but cannot sell items such as weapons, ammunition, controlled substances, tobacco, animals, baby formula, diapers, paint or food without a license.

The event will be held rain or shine.

Rural Scholars is also accepting donations of items to sell at its space during Flash Market. Items will be accepted on the Salem Campus during regular business hours. For details, contact Wendy Pfrenger, program director, at wpfrenge@kent.edu.

Registration forms and specific details for sellers are available online at https://www.kent.edu/Flashmarket or by calling 330-332-0361.

There are also opportunities for area businesses to be featured as sponsors of the event. For details about being a sponsor, call 330-337-4244.
