Kent State Salem’s Communiversity Choir Helps Celebrate City Center Anniversary with Veterans Day Concert

The Kent State Communiversity Choir is presenting a free Veterans Day concert on Tuesday, Nov. 7, beginning at 7 p.m., to pay tribute to veterans and members of the U.S. military, as well as helping to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the City Center.

The concert will take place in the City Center auditorium and will feature music that was popular through the decades, including a medley to honor all branches of the military. Other selections include the alma maters for Salem High School and Kent State University. The choir is under the direction of Mel Fucci, associate professor of music at Kent State Salem.

Between songs, Dr. David Dees, dean of the Kent State Salem Campus, will provide narration to explain the area’s social climate during the different periods of military conflict.

This event is being sponsored by the Kent State Salem Advisory Board, who will host a reception following the concert.

The City Center is located at 230 N. Lincoln Ave. in Salem. Handicap parking and access is available at the rear of the building.
