Featured Games:

Featured games are the PC titles the club is focusing on for the current year. Featured games are played both casually and competitively. Other games are always welcome. Casual play is encouraged as the club is always exploring fun new options.

Hearthstone is a free-to-play online collectible card video game developed and published by Blizzard Entertainment.

Hearthstone is a free, fast-paced strategy card game that's easy to learn and massively fun. Start a free account and play your cards to sling spells, summon creatures, and command the heroes of Warcraft in duels of epic strategy. It is played 1-vs-1 but variations may include small teams. While the game is technically free, purchasing card packs with in-game gold or with real money allows players to own more powerful decks that make for stronger gameplay. It can be played on PC or tablet. The club plans to hold Fireside Gatherings in the future.

Overwatch is a team-based multiplayer online first-person shooter video game developed and published by Blizzard Entertainment

Overwatch is a squad-based first-person shooter by Blizzard Entertainment with over 30 million players. The standard edition costs $29.99 and the “Game of the Year” edition costs $39.99. Either version is appropriate for club purposes. Once purchased, players have access to all 25 classes. The first priority of Team FlashDrive is fun but the club plans to develop 6-person teams to compete against others. FlashDrive will be playing Overwatch on the PC.

Equipment:

Headset with Microphone

Headset and microphones are optional but a massive advantage for online gaming. It is highly recommended for practices. In the event FlashDrive participates in an online tournament it will be mandatory.

VoIP

Battlenet icon FlashDrive will start with Blizzard Voice Chat. It is free with the battle.net client, which you need to play Hearthstone and Overwatch. It is not the best VoIP option but does not require additional programs to use. Over time we will assess the quality of Blizzard Voice Chat and explore other options if necessary.
