Alison Romeo is a graduate student pursuing a master’s degree in Communication Studies. She graduated from Kent State University at Tuscarawas with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communication Studies with a concentration in Applied Communication in May 2019. During her time as an undergrad, Alison was the founding secretary of The Communication Club at Kent State Tuscarawas. She is a trained Ambassador of Hope for Shared Hope International, a nationwide organization devoted to stop human trafficking and provide healing help for trafficking survivors. Alison also is certified by Green Dot in bystander training, a violence prevention program that teaches people how to be an active bystander and to safely take action when needed. As a graduate student, she is working as a teaching assistant for Dr. McCullough’s Communication Research Methods class online and as a speech tutor for Introduction to Human Communication. She is a member of the Communication Graduate Student Association. Her research interests are in interpersonal and mediated communication, and her career goal is to become an instructor in the field of communication at a smaller university or college.
