Rachel Ruic is an Academic Advisor for the School of Communication Studies (COMM).
Ruic is new to COMM, but not to the College of Communication and Information (CCI). She previously worked as an academic program specialist for the School of Library and Information Science, now called the iSchool. There, she served as the first point of contact for students seeking admission to graduate school and walked them through the process.
Ruic holds a Masters of Art in Education, where she focused her studies on adult learners and achievement gaps. Her other academic interests include adult learning styles and developing strategies for learning-disabled adults that can apply to higher education and the workplace.
As an academic advisor, Ruic specifically focuses on retention strategies for at-risk students and aims to connect them with KSU Support Services.
