Hunger and Homelessness Awareness Week is November 12-17

Food Drive at Hillel

Hillel at Kent State University will host a food drive throughout the week of 11/12-11/16 to benefit the Campus Kitchen Suggested items include peanut butter, jelly, cereal, pasta, pasta sauce, canned soups, any any non-perishable food items. Items can be dropped-off in boxes on the first floor of the Hillel Jewish Student Center.

Non-Perishable Food and Winter Clothing Drive 

Inter-college competitive non-perishable food and winter clothing drive, deposit boxes will be in faculty common areas and offices and the USG office. Donations will go towards the campus kitchen pantry and the Women's Center. Feminine hygiene products and household goods will also be accepted.

Can Sculpture

Teams will collect nonperishable items, build a structure using the Animated Movie theme and win cool prizes! All items will benefit the Campus Kitchen and the Women's Center Food Pantry. The theme will be Animated Movies.

Tabling event to create awareness of the Farm Bill, SNAP benefits and Hunger. Students from the COPH will have interactive displays for participants to experience the difficulty of eating healthy with limited funds. Low cost, easy recipes will also be available for participants. Prizes for participating!

Transportation is provided and Service Leader will accompany each group. We will share our experiences over a free lunch.
