National TRIO Day of Service

The National TRIO Day of Service takes place every year on the third Saturday in February in partnership with Kent State's Student Support Services office.

The Federal TRIO Programs (TRIO) are federal outreach and student services programs designed to identify and provide services for individuals from disadvantaged backgrounds. TRIO includes eight programs targeted to serve and assist low-income individuals, first-generation college students, and individuals with disabilities to progress through the academic pipeline from middle school to post-baccalaureate programs.

All projects during this day of service will connect to a larger theme of Access to Education and Children's Literacy, and the program will educate participants on how to extend their engagement with issues by getting involved in advocacy.
