Why did you pursue podiatric medicine? For me, becoming a surgeon has always been my goal and podiatric medicine presents many promising avenues.
Why did you choose Kent State? I chose Kent State because I enjoyed the small campus feel at a large institution. I come from a small town in Ohio, and I went to a private liberal arts institution just outside of Columbus, so smaller close-knit communities are where I feel comfortable.
Favorite aspect of Kent State now that you are a student here: My favorite aspect of Kent State thus far is the level of comradery between those in my class, and the upperclassmen that give so much of their time to help us succeed whether that be as a teaching assistant, tutor or big brother/sister.
What advice do you have for anyone considering podiatry school? Anyone interested in podiatry school should shadow as many kinds of physicians and healthcare providers as you can. It’s important to understand how different types of healthcare providers orchestrate with one another, and specifically, how podiatric physicians fit into that dynamic.
