Interview Experience

Interviews provide a wonderful opportunity for our faculty and staff to get to know you, a candidate for the Class of 2027. Your application provides great insight into your academic history, your shadowing experiences, your employment or volunteering, and much more. However, the interview is our first chance to get to know who you are as a person and learn more about why you believe you have found the right specialty in podiatric medicine.

Interviews at Kent State University are our opportunity to get to know you better, but it is also your opportunity to get to know our faculty and staff better.Interviews are not designed to be high stress or high anxiety. They are a learning experience for us. We are able to learn why you chose your undergraduate institution or why you may have chosen to pursue research or how you had time to manage work and classes or discuss your passion for medicine.

KSUCPM is offering two options for candidates invited to interview for a seat in the Class of 2027

Option #1: Virtual Interview

Virtual Interviews will be conducted through Microsoft Teams. A member of the Enrollment Management Office will schedule the interview and send you an invitation via e-mail. You will simply click the link in the e-mail at the time of your scheduled interview. (Do not download the app, just view Microsoft Teams on the web.) You can use the webcam on your computer. You can also use the microphone on your computer, or choose to mute it and call in to the number listed on the e-mail.

Prior to your interview experience, we will host a student panel via Microsoft Teams. This will allow you a chance to become more familiar with the ease of the program. An invitation for the panel will be sent separately. Learn more about Microsoft Teams and the virtual interview experience here. If you have any issues trying to log-on, please contact us at podiatry@kent.edu

Option #2: In-person Interview

Interviews hosted on campus will allow students to meet with the Enrollment Management Division, Tour campus, participate in a hands-on workshop/shadowing/class observation, interview with a faculty member and meet with the Dean or other member of administration. You can find a typical in-person interview schedule here.

Candidates who select an in-person interview are also eligible for a complimentary hotel stay (Candidates must live 40+ miles from the KSUCPM campus.) Please see details in the interview invitation e-mail.

Regardless of which interview format you choose, we are excited to learn more about you!
