Save the Date: 2019 Alumni Reunion Weekend and 2nd Annual $49 North Coast Foot & Ankle Symposium Return
We’ve gathered at clambakes, luaus, and prominent Cleveland locations long-cherished by alumni. We’ve celebrated our outstanding community with award ceremonies and presentations, and have gifted our students with scholarships and opportunities to network with our alumni. This year, we at CPM, along with the Ohio Podiatric Medical Student Association (OPMSA), welcome all alumni and friends of the College to join in another exciting weekend of celebrating our community and building the future of the profession. Alumni Reunion Weekend is back August 15 – 18th, with the same traditions that you love, in all new locations.
The weekend will kick-off Thursday morning with our now famed North Coast Foot & Ankle Symposium, which offers 25+ CECH starting at an alumni rate of just $49. The conference is open to all, both CPM alumni and non-alumni, and covers a range of topics which include: Trauma of the Lower Extremity, Complications Following Elective Foot & Ankle Surgery, Flatfoot Algorithms, Neuromuscular Deformities, Practice Management, Charcot and Limb Preservation Surgery, Sports Medicine, Modern Wound Care and more! The symposium, lasting August 15th – 18th, will be hosted at our campus in Independence, Ohio.
The social events that make up this year’s Alumni Reunion Weekend do just what we set out to do when we created this influential tradition: unite our current and former students in an effort to build lasting and impactful relationships, honor our award-winning community, and ultimately, raise money for the OPMSA Outstanding Podiatric Medical Student Scholarship Fund. The reunion weekend lasts Friday evening through Sunday afternoon, starting with the CPM Alumni Reunion, which will be held this year at the Corner Alley on thriving East 4th Street in Downtown Cleveland. Guests will enjoy dinner, drinks and all the rounds of arcade games and bowling you and your classmates can stand. Additionally, we’ll be celebrating all of our alumni, including special recognition for anniversary class years 1969, 1979 and 1994.
The feature event of the weekend will take place Saturday evening at the Annual Alumni & Hall of Fame Awards Dinner. This year, dine with both your classmates and the dinosaurs, as we spend the evening at the Cleveland Museum of Natural History! Per tradition, we will be honoring our faculty, staff, students and alumni with several awards including the KSUCPM Service Award, as well as the Young Physician Professional Achievement Award. The evening will conclude, as always, as we honor two prestigious alumni with an induction into the CPM Hall of Fame. Descriptions of these honors, as well as a full listing of past recipients can be found on our website at www.kent.edu/cpm/AlumniAwards.
To close out the weekend on Sunday, August 18th, OPMSA will host its time-honored student tradition, the OPMSA Annual Golf Outing. This year’s outing will be held at the Cleveland Metro Parks Seneca Golf Course.
