Pre-Health Student Experience

Pre-Health Student Experience

The Pre-Health Student Experience at Kent State University College of Podiatric Medicine is designed to provide insight into the many facets of podiatric medicine and the education involved with obtaining a Doctor of Podiatric Medicine degree. The three-day internship allows students the opportunity to:

  • Shadow foot and ankle physicians at the Cleveland Foot and Ankle Clinic.
  • Shadow foot and ankle physicians in a private practice setting.
  • Observe classes/lectures on the KSUCPM campus.
  • Take part in medical-themed workshops, such as suturing or taping and padding.
  • Meet with current podiatric medical students and learn more about this field from foot and ankle physicians.

2024 Pre-Health Student Experience Dates:

  1. Monday, June 3 - Wednesday, June 5, 2024
  2. Monday, June 10 - Wednesday, June 12, 2024

Expenses and Housing Accommodations

There is no cost for the pre-health student experience program itself; however, accepted students should understand that some expenses may be incurred due to transportation and living expenses. Students accepted into the program (who reside more than 40 miles away from campus) will receive a complimentary room stay at a nearby, pre-determined hotel for up to three nights. Interns may seek other accommodations at their own expense.

KSUCPM will provide students with daily breakfasts and lunches, along with transportation to the various clinics, offices, and hospital sites.
