Visit

  1. KSU Preview . Held in fall and spring semesters, these half-day events include a resource fair, presentations on financial aid, campus tours, and a look at a model dorm room, along with a session which includes question and answers in the computer science department.
  2. Campus Tour, includes a 30-minute presentation followed by a 90-minute walking tour of campus. (To add a computer science department visit to your Campus Tour, just email the faculty advisors at  ugradinfo@cs.kent.edu with the  date and your time constraints, and we will set up an appointment

Find Academic Resources

  1. Undergraduate advisors: professional undergraduate advisors in the College of Arts and Sciences, and faculty advisors in the Department of Computer Science. 
  2. Tutoring for many computer science classes
  3. Kent State University's Academic Success Center provides Supplemental Instruction and Tutoring for a wide range of non-CS courses

Find a Job

  1. Why Computer Science?. The U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics says that employment in the field will grow much faster than the average for all occupations, and there are far more new jobs in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) for computing professionals than any other area. Moreover, the demand far exceeds the supply. As a result, computer science graduates are in high demand, both in Northeastern Ohio and elsewhere.
  2. Career Exploration and Development office provides career advice, assistance with resumes, and practice interviews. They sponsor Career Fairs and can assist with finding internships, part-time jobs, or full-time employment.
