Prof. Volkert chosen for Phase 2 of CS Principles!

Congratulations to KSU CS Prof. Gwenn Volkert, who was just chosen to participate in Phase 2 of the CS Principles project!

Phase 2 of the CS Principles project, which is about to begin, will be a three-year effort leading to a new AP CS Principles course that will focus both on the creative and practical aspects of computing. This new course will complement the current AP CS A course, which focuses on programming.

40 high schools and 10 colleges were chosen to participate in Phase 2. Not only was Kent State one of only 10 colleges chosen, but we're the sole representative in Ohio. With prior piloting at UC Berkeley, UC San Diego, Univ Washington, Virginia Tech, Univ Pennsylvania, Georgia Tech, Kent State is now in an elite group breaking new ground in Computer Science education.

Best wishes to Prof. Volkert for a successful project!
