Back to School Blastoff

BlastOff 2018 will take place on Wednesday, August 22 from 4:30 - 8 p.m.  This is the official kick-off event for the school year where thousands of students will gather on Risman Plaza to catch up with old friends, meet new ones and learn about many of the student organizations and departments on campus. The event will conclude with a concert and light show!  

The deadline to register for a table is Friday, August 17.

Black Squirrel Festival

The Black Squirrel Festival has been a Kent State tradition for 37 years! The event offers students a chance to learn about student organizations, explore different university departments and learn more about the Kent community. Local vendors will have everything from coupons to clothing and jewelry and of course more free stuff. Many of the more than 400 student organizations will be set up at the event to recruit new members and encourage students to get involved. 

The first 1,000 students to visit a set amount of tables will receive an official Black Squirrel Festival t-shirt.   

The deadline to register your group or department for a table is Friday, August 31.

Kent State Homecoming Parade

Be part of Kent State's 100th Homecoming Celebration!  The parade will take place on Saturday, October 6 at 10 a.m. beginning at Midway Dr. and will proceed west on Main Street. The parade will conclude at approximately 11:30 a.m. at the intersection of Main Street and Franklin Avenue in downtown Kent, Ohio.
