Medical Technology Club

Medical Laboratory Science, also referred to as Medical Technology, is an allied health career that provides laboratory services for the diagnosis of various diseases. The Medical Technology program is a 3+1 Bachelor of Science which consists of 3 years of coursework at Kent State and a 1-year internship in a Medical Laboratory Science program at an affiliated hospital. Upon completion of a degree in Medical Technology at Kent State, you will be qualified to work in a variety of laboratory settings.

The purpose of the Medical Laboratory Science Club is to allow Medical Technology majors, and those of interest, to gather, discuss, and help one another with classes. As a member, you will be given the opportunity to go to several events and form relationships with the clinical directors of the five affiliated hospitals. Such events include an Open House in the Fall, in which clinical directors come to Kent State to provide information about their programs, and also multiple clinical tours, where you will be given the chance to see some of the affiliated hospitals, tour their laboratories, and meet their directors.

Ultimately, Medical Laboratory Science Club serves as an excellent resource for Medical Technology majors. Whether that be completing undergraduate courses, or getting into clinical, Medical Laboratory Science Club is here to help every step of the way!
