Kent State Student Chapter of Optical Society of America

The OSA-KSU student chapter has been established to promote awareness about optical science and engineering among academic and local communities. It serve as a means of communication and interaction between students, faculty, and administration. It also facilitates interaction between students and other chapters and national headquarters of the Optical Society of America. The chapter strives to provide insight into internship and job opportunities via interactions with members of the industry.

Meetings

The Chapter shall hold at least three meetings during the school year, with the exact date determined by the officers.

Notice of all meetings shall be posted on the Department (or other appropriate) Bulletin Board at least ten (10) days prior to the date of the meeting, and may be further publicized in any manner the President (and/or Publicity Committee) deems necessary and proper.

Any activities which are illegal, potentially dangerous, or prohibited by Kent State University, are strictly forbidden.

Summer meetings shall be optional.

Membership Requirements

Membership in this chapter shall be open to any Kent State student with an interest in optical science and optical engineering. Members of the chapter shall be either student or regular members of the Optical Society of America.
There shall be no membership discrimination on the basis of race, color, sex, marital status, religion, national origin, or age.
