  • Journalism Teaching Endorsement: No - Journalism is not required at any grade level in Louisiana; it is an elective.
  • NCATE or National Accreditation required: All teachers in Louisiana must have completion of an education program from a regionally accredited college or university. If an individual completes a program in another state then that college or university must be regionally accredited through either Southern Association of Colleges and Schools, Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools, New England Association of Colleges and Schools, North Central Association of Colleges and Schools, The Northwestern Association of Colleges and Schools, or Western Association of Colleges and Schools.
  • Accepts candidates from states participating in the NASDTEC Interstate Contract: Louisiana DOES belong to the NASDTEC Interstate Contract (Teachers).
