  • Journalism Teaching Endorsement: No - Many teachers who teach Journalism are usually endorsed in English 7-12. In the Tennessee listing of high school courses, one will find the following: Course Title: Journalism, Course Code: 3008, Teaching Endorsements required: 007, 407. 007 = an older version of English 7-12. 407 = the current endorsement code for English 7-12. These are the only license endorsements that have been approved to teach Journalism. So, if someone is interested in teaching Journalism in Tennessee, they would need to pursue a degree with a major in English and endorsement #407 - English 7-12.
