The Stratasys was purchased with a grant from the state of Ohio. A requirement of the grant is to make the printer available to students outside of the college. There is a link on the webpage shown above that allows anyone to upload CAD drawings so that they may have something printed and we only charge for the material used. Students enrolled in the engineering programs in the College of Aeronautics and Engineering are often given projects where they are required to use this printer so that they understand this technology. This printer has the capability to use three different materials, ranging from polypropylene to rubber, at one time for a print. By controlling the way in which the materials are combined, the designer has many options for hardness and color.
