Web Team Classroom Training Options
This two hour hands-on training will teach you how to create content and edit your Kent State University website, as well as learn how to add images, videos, links and buttons, create a custom URL, save a revision, schedule publication, upload documents and manage the site navigation.
DRUPAL TRAINING - HOME PAGE ELEMENTS
The website style has been updated to meet the new brand standards. All sites have had their home page template changed to contain the elements their site administrators chose. This training session provides an overview of the new elements and offers hands-on time to learn how to update the content contained in the elements on your site's new home page.
PLEASE NOTE: These sessions are open to trained Drupal editors only. Updating home page elements is now part of Drupal Training for those that are new to Drupal.
Web Accessibility Training
Web Accessibility Training includes instruction on how to correctly add content in Drupal which follows Section 508 of the Americans with Disabilities Act, a federal law requiring our site to be accessible to all people including those with auditory, cognitive, neurological, physical, speech and visual impairments. sight or mobility limitations. Learning how to use Siteimprove to locate and fix accessibility issues is also covered, as well as instruction on how to created web accessible documents for use on the Kent State website.
Web Best Practices Training
This training covers the entire web best practices cycle: Identify Goals, Monitor Analytics, Control Quality, Audit Content, Test Usability and Improve Conversion
Web Images Workshop
The Web Images Workshop reviews best practices for using images on the Kent State website. The workshop is a hands-on approach to resizing, cropping and saving images for the web using Pixlr (online freeware).
Personalized help and training with Drupal, web accessibility, creating web accessible documents, Siteimprove and Google Analytics. You can come and go during the session as your needs and availability dictate, but we do want to ensure there's a need for the session and enough staff for those attending.
Most questions can be answered with online manual, guides and tutorials. Office hours or WebEx remote training sessions are available if you need to schedule training for yourself or a small group.
