About the Diversity Education and Training Lab
The Diversity Education and Training Lab is housed within the Division of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion. Offerings are categorized by a 3 x 3 x 3 model (Sue, 1991).
- Functional: Diversity training needs driven by function such as recruitment, retention and promotion
- Barriers: Diversity dialogues and workshops designed to explore areas such as difference, discrimination, prejudice, stereotypes, unintentional biases and myths, institutional/systemic climate issues
- Competencies: Diversity training and sessions designed to foster cultural and intercultural competency skills, knowledge and understanding
DEI has coordinated a team of trainers / presenters who facilitate interactive, dynamic sessions tailored to the requesting group’s needs and interests.
