Beverly J. Warren Unity Award for Diversity
The Beverly J. Warren Unity Award for Diversity recognizes the contributions of any Kent State University unit that demonstrates significant contributions in the areas of diversity, equity, and/or inclusion. This award honors units for their commitment to implementing diversity and inclusion initiatives.
Diversity Trailblazer Award
The annual Diversity Trailblazer Award recognizes diversity pioneers associated with Kent State University. The award is given to those individuals who have displayed exemplary contributions in the area of diversity to the University Community.
Vice President's Shining Star Award
The Vice President's Shining Star Award is bestowed upon a faculty or staff member within the Division of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion. This person personifies a strong dedication and commitment to the division’s mission, vision and purpose in addition to going above and beyond the call of duty.
The President's Ambassadorship is an opportunity for collaboration with a local, high-level person of color who will serve as a catalyst for change, promoting pluralistic understanding and mutual respect among diverse constituencies of students, staff, faculty and administrators at Kent State University.
National Diversity Awards
Insight Into Diversity
Kent State University’s commitment to maintaining a diverse and inclusive campus has received acknowledgement from INSIGHT Into Diversity, the oldest and largest diversity-focused publication in higher education, for a fifth consecutive year. INSIGHT Into Diversity has selected Kent State as a recipient of the 2017 Higher Education Excellence in Diversity (HEED) Award.
The annual HEED Award is a national honor that recognizes U.S. colleges and universities that demonstrate an outstanding commitment to diversity and inclusion. As a recipient of this award, Kent State will be featured in INSIGHT Into Diversity magazine’s November 2017 issue, along with 91 other recipients.
