Lazos, in Spanish "ties" (as in "family ties"), is a culturally and linguistically relevant mentoring initiative for Latinx/Hispanic students. Lazos provides support for students by meeting with Latinx/Hispanic faculty and staff who offer one-on-one culturally coordinated support in order to promote the student's academic success.
PIPELINE CAMPUS VISITS
The Pipeline Campus Visit Initiative is a pre-college educational program that focuses on inspiring young scholars by providing a positive college campus visit experience and highlighting various academic, social and career possibilities. The purpose of the campus visit is for academic enrichment and exposure, and an opportunity for young scholars in middle and high school to begin to seriously explore their aspirations in higher education.
The University Stewards Program is intended to identify faculty and staff who will serve as points of support, resource and referral for students. The role of a Steward is to serve as informal and neutral resources for students. This effort coordinated between Student Affairs; Diversity, Equity and Inclusion; and is designed to offer personalized support to students who experience issues related to climate on campus.
