I am a Graduate Assistant in the LGBTQ Student Center and assist with research and assist with managing programs and initiatives for students.
I have previous work experience as a mental health specialist working with both adults and children. I have worked for a main stream behavioral health agency as well as an African Centered agency where I was able to learn a lot about mental and behavioral health. I was able to assist community members with linkage to resources, psycho education, advocacy, teaching and practicing coping skills and assisting children with behavioral health in school. I love helping people!
Favorite place on the Kent Campus:
White Hall because it is where I took my very first graduate class.
Best advice for students:
Manage your time wisely, take care of yourself (use coping skills to help you relax and distress), utilize support of family and friends and do not be afraid to ask for help in class.
