As the assistant director, I work with the Director to provide programming, support, and advocacy for students with marginalized genders and sexualities or those wishing to engage with topics related to those identities.
Before coming to Kent, I spent five years working in Residence Life at Hiram College and then Syracuse University.
Favorite place on the Kent campus:
When I first got here, I didn't have an office. I've been slowly filling my new office (complete with walls and a door) with things I like to make it my favorite place!
Best advice for students:
Be open to opportunities and change. A lot of how I got to where I am is through saying yes to things I didn't necessarily set out to do. Find your support team. You're going to face challenges in college and in life. Making sure you surround yourself with people who believe in you, support you, and challenge you to grow will help you get through them.
