Biography

Position:

I humbly serve as the Director for the Upward Bound Classic Program. In my role, I determine service needs, design and implement program interventions based on factors including the socio-economic status of Upward Bound participants, school performance trends and educational best practices. In addition, I provide outreach and support services to faculty, staff, and students for the Upward Bound program, and initiate and foster strategic partnerships with target schools.

Experience:

Before I began my journey with Upward Bound in 2009, I worked in Financial Services and Mortgage Loans.

Favorite place on the Kent campus:

The Upward Bound Office-it is a welcoming and expressive environment that is full of energy and smiling faces.

Best advice to students:

"Don't think outside the box. Think like there is no box.ʺ - Marcandangel

The only person that can limit you is you. Do not wait for opportunities to come to you, create them.
