I serve as the Academic Program Coordinator for the Upward Bound Math Science program. I provide coordination and assist in the planning and management of the TRIO Upward Bound Math Science program for college bound high school students in Barberton and Canton.
Prior to joining the Kent State family, I taught English in Madrid, Spain for four years. I served as an English Language and Culture Assistant in both primary and secondary schools, as well as taught English to business professionals in various companies. I also taught in an English immersion program for international adults in Cork, Ireland for two summers. Upon returning to the United States, I completed my Master of Education in Higher Education and Student Personnel as well as a Graduate Certificate in the Internationalization of Higher Education at Kent State University. As a Graduate Assistant in the College of Nursing, I served as an Academic Advisor to Pre-Nursing students and instructed the First Year Experience course. Additionally, I completed internships with both Upward Bound and the ESL Center.
Favorite place on the Kent Campus:
The Read Room in White Hall, where I was fortunate to host many great events as a co-founder of the KSU International Women’s Group during my time as a graduate student.
Best advice for students:
Don’t let your dreams be dreams! Nothing is beyond your reach with the correct mindset, support, and persistence.
