“Growth mindset is an aspect of teaching that teaches students "The Power of Yet".   While only 10 and 11 years old, thinking about the future and setting goals is imperative for our youth.  The students were so excited to get the opportunity to tour the Kent State University Campus.  KSU student tour guides were so awesome with our kids, leading but also being real about college life and the need for good choices.  Our 5th grade students walked away with not only KSU swag but also with goals in mind for what they want their life to be.” Kristi M. 8/27/18

"I was thinking about how, for the young black men who came, they have probably never had a teacher who looked like them. You may be the first and only black instructor they have ever had. I was wondering if I could give them your email and tell them to email you if they need guidance or have questions. I want them to be able to have a mentor who can speak to them the way you did today. You would not need to do anything other than answer their emails from time to time if they wrote them. Thank you again so, so much! They loved it!" Hannah A. 8/24/18

"Thank you, thank you, thank you for crafting such an impactful experience for the group! Words cannot express the gratitude I have for you and your passion in helping the students. Your story is uniquely empowering and I am inspired every time you mention it." Spencer G. 8/24/18

"Thanks for taking time out of your day to spend time with the boys. They really liked you and respected what you had to say. They cannot stop talking about their trip.  You made a difference!   Thank You!"  Alecia H. 8/24/18

"I want to thank you for providing a wonderful college field trip. As well as taking the time to provide speakers. The students enjoyed their visit and their college experiences. They loved the food." Ruby T. 8/24/18

"On behalf of William and I, we want to thank you for organizing a wonderful and informative visit to Kent State University yesterday for our students and mentors - Club EPIC (Empowering People in Connections). Our students had a wonderful experience!  It was a pleasure listening to everyone's journey and testimonials of the importance of education.  Several of the KSU students reached out to our students and to me personally interested in volunteering at our school district! I shared my contact information with them. Please extend our thanks to the KSU student panel. Much Appreciation." Susan H. 8/24/18

We at Central really believe in the impact these campus visits can have on our students and their future. We are so thankful that Kent State opens their doors to providing an eye-opening experience for our seventh grade students. We believe it is never too early for students to start to dream about what their futures can be…We look forward to continuing our partnership with KSU”. Mike Mennel, Principal of Euclid Central Middle School
