ASSOCIATION HISTORY

The Association of International Students in Education, Health & Human Services (AIS-EHHS) was established in 1996 by a group of students from the Russian Federation and the former Soviet Republic who were attending Kent State University

Dr. Steve Michael, former Vice-Provost at Kent State University, is recognized as the founder of AIS-EHHS. He served as the association's adviser from 1996-1998.

The Gerald H. Read Center for International & Intercultural Education (CIIE) played a vital part in the development of AIS-EHHS and continues to be a significant contributor to the growth of the association. CIIE hosts AIS-EHHS and collaboration between the two entity continues to result in the achievement of educational and social programming for students, faculty, staff, and the surrounding community.
