Rosemary Gornik Edits Book on Teacher Leadership
Dr. Rosemary Gornik, Assistant Professor of Educational Leadership K-12 is the co-editor of and a contributor to Creating a Culture of Support for Teacher Leaders: A Vision for Change and Hope (Rowman & Littlefield, February 2018). Through the concise study-and-practice guidance of five, practicing public school administrators and two university instructors, the book explores ways in which teacher leadership can be incorporated into existing initiatives. By distributing leadership, administrators organically utilize the gifts and talents that individual teachers already possess defying prescribed roles and specific job descriptions. Dr. Gornik and her co-editor, Dr. Wendy Samford, are principal and co-investigator on a large state grant at Kent State University to increase teacher leadership in Ohio.
