Nick Morris Recognized by Professional Society
Cultural Foundations program alumnus Dr. Nick Morris recently received the Individual Service Award from the Society of Outdoor Recreation Professionals. The award was presented in May at the 2017 National Outdoor Recreation Conference in Scottsdale, AZ. Nick defended his dissertation, Relocating Education for Sustainability: From the Classroom to the Community, in the fall of 2016. Nick serves as the Manager of Special Projects at Stark Parks (managing community partnerships). Nick is an adjunct professor in the Recreation, Parks, and Tourism Management Program teaching Environmental Education and Conservation as well as Foundations of Recreation. Additionally, he is working on a research project with Finnish artists/researchers to explore the capacity of arts-based thinking to help us better understand visitor experience within park settings..
