DESCRIPTION
The Ph.D. in Educational Administration-Higher Education prepares highly effective higher education administrators and staff professionals who possess the skills and competencies required to meet the varied challenges facing two-year, four-year and graduate institutions and communities today, and to help shape educational institutions in the future
ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS
Application deadline: April 1 for Summer, June 1 for Fall, and September 1 for Spring. Those who wish to have a graduate assistantship for the Fall, should apply by January 15.
Required and preferred characteristics:
Master’s degree in a related field (required)
3.5 or higher graduate GPA (preferred)
HIED work experience (preferred)
Prepare and submit the following:
Professional statement of goals
Two letters of reference--Forms for Letters of Reference
Official Transcripts--2 official copies from each college or university in which 8 semester hours or 12 quarter hours were earned
$45 Application Fee--Credit card use online application, check mail-in form
Submit all Materials to: Division of Graduate Studies, Cartwright Hall, 650 Hilltop Dr., Kent State University, Kent, Ohio 44242.
We encourage applicants to check with the Division of Graduate Studies at 330-672-2661 to make certain all materials are complete and have been received. Once a completed file has been forwarded to the Program Coordinator, an initial screening will take place. If two or more faculty support interviewing the applicant, the Coordinator will contact the applicant and set a day and time to interview (through Teams). Following the interview, the faculty vote and then send their recommendation to the Associate Dean. The Associate Dean makes the final decision and will notify the applicant (typically within a week or less) of that decision.
