GRADUATE FINANCIAL AID

A number of selected Master's and Doctoral students in our program receive graduate assistantships in terms of both teaching and research assistance appointments. These appointments provide students with research and teaching opportunities and responsibilities for the academic year. Find out more information on the Financial Aid website.

Teaching assignments could include undergraduate service courses such as Personal Health, Human Sexuality, or Drugs & Health while some professional courses are also available. (Community Health, Consumer Health, Health Counseling, Program Planning.) Research activities include opportunities to work with faculty on research and/or grant projects.

FLORENCE HELLMAN GRADUATE STUDENT SCHOLARSHIP

  • Eligibility: Graduate students, Masters or PhD, majoring in Health Education who are in good standing and enrolled at the Kent University main campus
  • Annual amount: $100-$1,000
  • Available to: Kent State University main campus
  • Time for Application: February, each year
  • Renewable: No

FOR UNDERGRADUATE STUDENTS

ROSEMARY AMOS MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP

  • Eligibility: Undergraduate students (FR/SO/JR/SR) majoring in Health Education with a commitment to human service, and having a financial need
  • Annual amounts: $200.00-$1500.00
  • Available to: Kent State University main campus
  • Renewable: Yes

GWENDOLYN SCOTT OUTSTANDING SENIOR AWARD

  • Eligibility: Undergraduate seniors majoring in Health Education with academic excellence, outstanding work in leadership and service, and who have an interest in a health profession within the Kent community
  • Annual Award: $ 50.00-$100.00 (one award available)
  • Available to: Kent State University main campus
  • Renewable: No

2. CENTER FOR INTERNATIONAL AND INTERCULTURAL EDUCATION

The Gerald H. Read Center for International and Intercultural Education within College of Education, Health and Human Services serves as an international and intercultural resource for students and faculty of the College and Graduate School of Education, Health and Human Services and to the greater Kent and world community. International students enrolled in EHHS are encouraged to sign up with the center for conversation partners—as a way to improve their English, to make American friends, and to feel part of the social life on campus. The center also organizes meetings just for undergraduates international students to introduce them again to the writing center, the office, and other areas for academic support on campus. It is a great resources for all international students in EHHS.
