The Educational Specialist (Ed.S.) in Special Education provides an advanced, post-master's program in specialized areas of educational programming for children and youth with exceptionalities. The program is flexible to accommodate the needs of post-master's degree students who wish to assume leadership roles in schools and agencies that provide special education and related services to children, youth, and adults who have disabilities.
Individuals interested in pursing a Ph.D. degree in special education should not enroll in this program.
Students working on their Ed.S. in Special Education will work closely with their faculty advisor to develop a plan of study that fits their professional needs and educational background. This advanced degree allows for school professionals to increase their knowledge of special education to improve their skills and ability to work with families, K-12 faculty, and exceptional learners in their district.
