Miscommunication & Dialogue Interaction Lab

Dr. Jenny Roche is a cognitive scientist in Speech Pathology & Audiology. Her lab (Miscommunication and Dialogue Interaction Lab) evaluates the effect of perspective taking, the tone of voice, behavioral synchrony, ambiguity in language, and how social context shapes communication -- and when it fails. She uses a number of experimental methods, including eye and computer mouse-tracking, to evaluate the underlying mechanisms that contribute to successful and unsuccessful communication. She is the recipient of the College of Education, Health, and Human Services Research Council Seed Grant, has 13 peer-reviewed publications, and more than 20 conference presentations in the field of cognitive psychology/science.
