Alternative Praxis Tests

The tests below are given to students who TWICE did not pass a portion(s) of the PRAXIS I/Praxis Core exam

Reading Test
The Reading Test is available for students who have attempted and have not passed the Praxis Core or Praxis I Reading exam a minimum of two times.  Please check back here in a few weeks for more information about the revised Reading Test.
Please note:  This test can only be taken once.

Mathematics Test
The Mathematics Test is available for students who have attempted and have not passed the Praxis Core or Praxis I Math exam a minimum of two times.  Areas covered include mean, median, multiplication, percentages, decimals, geometry, fractions, addition, subtraction, algebra and division.  The test consists of 56 questions, time allotted is 1½ hours, and a four function calculator is permitted.
Please note:  There are three forms of this test and each form can be taken only once.

Writing Test
The Writing Test is available for students who have attempted and have not passed the Praxis Core or Praxis I Reading exam a minimum of two times.  The test consists of two sections.  The first section is 40 multiple choice questions covering the topics of homonyms, punctuation, grammar and word choice, sentence errors and recognizing correct and complete sentences.  The second section is an argumentative essay over a topic that the student chooses from a pre-determined list of options. Students will have a total of 70 minutes to complete the entire test.
