6th Annual Bra Recycling Drive
Kent State University’s Office of Sustainability and the Women’s Center are hosting a Bra Recycling Drive, Oct. 1 through Nov. 2, to collect reusable or worn-out bras and reduce the number of textiles in landfills. Bras that are in good condition will be donated to the Phyllis Zumkehr County Clothing Center, and worn-out bras will be recycled. As a reminder, clothing can be dropped off to the Career Closet at the Women's Center, and clothing not used for the Career Closet is donated to the Phyllis Zumkehr County Clothing Center. October is National Breast Cancer Awareness Month. The Women's Center offers screening mammograms to qualified Kent State employees, spouses and students in October and April.
Bras that are washed and clean can be dropped off at the Women’s Center Williamson House, Monday through Friday, 8 a.m.-5 p.m.; Tri-Towers Desk, 24 hours a day, seven days a week; Student Recreation and Wellness Center, fall hours Monday through Thursday, 5:30 a.m.-11 p.m., Friday 5:30 a.m.-10 p.m., and Saturday and Sunday 7 a.m.-8 p.m.; or at the Office of Sustainability at Suite 101 in Harbourt Hall, 8 a.m.-5 p.m from Oct. 1 through Nov. 2, or sent via intercampus mail to the Women's Center or Office of Sustainability.
