CEO of Battered Women’s Shelter and Rape Crisis Center to Speak at Kent State’s Nonprofit Spotlight Speaker Series
Terri Heckman, CEO of the Battered Women’s Shelter and the Rape Crisis Center of Summit and Medina Counties, will speak at Kent State University’s Nonprofit Spotlight Speaker Series on Monday, Nov. 7, at 7 p.m. The event will take place in the Schwartz Center Auditorium (Room 177).
Heckman, a prominent family stability advocate, will speak about domestic violence prevention, ways in which family peace can be promoted and how she successfully leads two vibrant nonprofit organizations.
Light refreshments will be available after the presentation.
Attendees are encouraged to bring donations of toilet paper, paper towels, laundry soap tablets and trash bags, as these are the items most needed by the shelter at this time.
The event is sponsored by Kent State’s Nonprofit Studies Program, Human Development and Family Studies Program, Women’s Studies Program, the Women’s Center, Sexual and Relationship Violence Support Services, the Center for Applied Conflict Management and the International Justice Mission Student Organization.
