Kent State’s Annual Day of Service to Take Place on Jan. 18

Kent State University faculty, staff and students plan to provide service at a variety of nonprofit sites in Cuyahoga, Portage and Summit counties on the 2016 MLK Day of Service.

Everyone is reminded to save the date and join the MLK Day of Service activity on Monday, Jan. 18, from 9 a.m. – 2 p.m. The yearly day of service once again kicks off Kent State University’s monthlong series of events in observance of the 14th annual Martin Luther King Jr. Celebration.

The MLK Day of Service is sponsored by Hillel, the Division of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion and the Office of Experiential Education and Civic Engagement. Participants engage in service with area nonprofits such as homeless shelters, food pantries, senior care centers, etc.

Participants should meet at the Cohn Jewish Center, 613 E. Summit St. A small breakfast, lunch and transportation to the service sites will be provided. If you have questions about the event, email experiential@kent.edu.
