Kent State’s School of Theatre and Dance Premieres New Faculty Choreography in Dance ’15: Moving Parts

Kent State University’s School of Theatre and Dance continues its 2015-2016 season with Dance ’15: Moving Parts, a concert of diverse premieres by dance faculty members, which includes a piece by new dance division coordinator Jeffrey Marc Rockland. Dance ’15: Moving Parts runs from Dec. 4-6 in E. Turner Stump Theatre, Center for the Performing Arts, 1325 Theatre Drive on the Kent Campus.

Dance ’15: Moving Parts highlights the versatility and diverse artistic approaches of faculty members MaryAnn BlackKimberly KarpantyJoan Meggitt, Marc Rockland, Tanya Mucci (B.F.A. 2000) and Barbara Allegra Verlezza. Meggitt serves as the concert’s artistic director.

More than 75 dancers, designers, faculty members, crew members and staff are involved in the semesterlong collaboration to bring these choreographic concepts to their fullest artistic expression. Marc Rockland, the new dance division coordinator for Kent State’s School of Theatre and Dance, and Meggitt, artistic director for Dance ’15: Moving Parts, will serve as emcees and introduce the works.  

For tickets, call 330-672-ARTS (2787), purchase online or in person at the Performing Arts Box Office located in the Roe Green Center lobby of the Center for the Performing Arts at 1325 Theatre Drive. The box office is open Monday through Friday, noon to 5 p.m.

Tickets are $18 for adults, $16 for Kent State alumni, faculty and staff, $14 for seniors (60+) and $10 for non-Kent State students age 18 and under. Tickets are free for full-time, Kent Campus undergraduate students. Groups of 10 or more can purchase tickets for $12 per person. Flex pass subscriptions also are available. The box office accepts Visa, MasterCard, Discover, check and cash.
