Kent State’s Women’s Center Hosts Feminine Product Drive
The Kent State University Women’s Center is hosting a feminine product collection from Nov. 16 to Dec. 11. Internationally, women face taboos and discrimination during their monthly period. In the U.S., some women often struggle to afford products due to the “pink tax.” Only five states have specifically sought exemption of feminine hygiene products from taxation laws.
Donations can be dropped off now through Dec. 11 at the Women’s Center at 125 Midway Drive in Kent. The center also will have a collection box on the second floor of the Kent Student Center on Wednesday, Nov. 18. The Women’s Center will have educational information and next steps to make our voices heard around this issue.
