Kent State Trumbull Hosts Demonstration of Thai Music
On Friday, March 24, as part of the Niagara Chapter of the Society for Ethnomusicology's annual conference, Kent State University's Priwan Nanongkham will lead a performance and demonstration of traditional Thai music at Kent State University at Trumbull’s Auditorium.
Born in Thailand, Nanongkham is the director of Kent State's Thai Ensemble. He has been an adjunct professor of ethnomusicology at Kent State, teaching a variety of music courses including world music, since 2005.
The performance is free and open to the public. No registration is required. Doors open at 7 p.m., and the performance begins at 7:30 p.m. Kent State Trumbull’s Auditorium is located in the Classroom/Administration Building, 4314 Mahoning Ave. N.W in Warren.
