The Kent State University Bookstore will be hosting its third annual Book Festival on Oct. 14 from 11 a.m.-3 p.m. The festival is a celebration of local Northeast Ohio authors, including Kent State faculty, alumni and the Kent State University Press.
Authors will include true crime author and alumnus James Renner, local history author Andrew Bajda, local author Irv Korman and Professor Emeritus of Sociology Jerry Lewis. In addition, Professor Emeritus of English Daniel Berardinelli celebrates his newly published book of poetry, Black Dog Happy. Sports author and alumnus Roger Gordon shares four books, three of which were released in the last year (Cleveland Cavaliers A-Z, The Miracle of Richfield, and So You Think You're a Cleveland Browns Fan). Young adult author D.M. King graces us with the third book of his Nine series titled Faithless. Funky Winkerbean author and alumnus Tom Batiuk will celebrate the 10th anniversary of Lisa's Story with the release of its prequel, Prelude, and sequel, The Last Leaf.
Authors will be available to meet attendees and sign books.
The festival is free and open to the public. Parking is available in the guest lot in front of the Kent Student Center and in the commuter lot across the street.
