Kent State University Gospel Choir Annual Fall Concert Takes Place Dec. 11

If you need an uplifting and relaxing way to wind down the semester, come join the Kent State University Gospel Choir for its annual fall concert I Smile. The concert will be presented on Friday, Dec. 11, at 7:30 p.m. in Cartwright Hall. The concert is free, and no tickets are required. Doors open at 7 p.m. Parking is free.
The choir is excited to introduce Lalah Sullivan, a student at Theodore Roosevelt High School, as soloist for Happy Birthday, Jesus. Davey Elementary School Choir, directed by music teacher Ellen Ditirck, will return as a special guest and join the Kent State Gospel Choir for a wonderful arrangement. The concert will begin with an audience sing-along of traditional Christmas carols, followed by popular, contemporary gospels such as I Smile (Kirk Franklin), Who’s on The Lord’s Side (Timothy Wright) and Every Praise (Hezekiah Walker).
